In-Space Propulsion, Edge-AI Imagers for EO and RPOD, and a Scalable Spacecraft Bus

Athena Satellite Bus & Avionics

NordSpace is co-developing a custom spacecraft bus, Athena, to deliver a single platform that powers all of its launch vehicles, satellites, and robotics. NordSpace plans to launch its own cluster of 8 satellites to connect Canadians and monitor our environment in real-time, starting with our first satellite in 2026 called Terra-Nova. Terra-Nova, will be a demonstration of 3 key technologies. The Athena Bus, Zephyr-EP thruster, and Chronos edge-AI camera.

Zephyr Green In-Space Propulsion

Zephyr is a series of configurable in-space propulsion systems for attitude control, orbital transfer (OTVs), de-orbiting, station keeping, and more. We design, manufacture, and test Zephyr entirely in-house, leveraging our expertise in precision metal additive manufacturing and propulsion systems. Zephyr-EP provides electric and Zephyr-CH chemical propulsion.

Chronos Cameras for EO and SA

NordSpace’s Chronos series of imagers come in several variants; RGB, multispectral, and hyperspectral for Earth observation and precision agriculture to situational awareness and defence. Our situational awareness camera will provide depth perception and illumination in deep space and on the Moon.
